Disney Cruise Line's Wi-Fi, Connect@Sea, is in the process of being upgraded, so speed, bandwidth and cost vary by ship. The option for those still in swim diapers is some splash areas, such as Nemo's Reef and Dory's Reef. The adult sun deck is a nice place to grab a chair and relax, even if you have no intention of getting in the water. Disney Magic has the most thrilling waterslide in the fleet, called AquaDunk, and Disney Wonder has its own waterslide in the AquaLab splash area. You can work off some of those treats and drinks at the onboard fitness center on each ship. These reservations are hard to get, especially for brunch, so you'll want to make them the second you are eligible and keep checking back for cancellations if you miss out the first time.

Rotational Dining Restaurants on Disney Fantasy

In terms of character meet & greets, the scheduled meet & greets in the atrium were without a doubt the most popular ones we saw. This was especially true on Pirate Night, when the characters are dressed in pirate attire. If you want to do meet & greets on Pirate Night, make sure to arrive and line-up just before the meet & greets start.

Casual Dining on the Disney Fantasy Cruise Ship

But unlike at the Disney theme parks, which can be a bit complicated to navigate, long lines and complex strategies are rarely a part of the Disney cruise experience. There’s never any obligation to book, and there’s no additional charge to use their planning services! The best Bahamas cruise itinerary is the 4-night sailing from Miami that includes stops in both Nassau and Disney Cruise Line’s Castaway Cay. Select sailing dates also feature the “Halloween on the High Seas” theme.

Family-friendly cruise rivals Royal Caribbean and Carnival Cruise Line, by contrast, each send three ships to Alaska each year, and Norwegian Cruise Line sends five vessels to the destination. Already, the first of those ships, the 2,508-passenger Disney Wish, has arrived, boosting the size of the Disney fleet from four ships to five and allowing for more departures to the Caribbean, Mexico and Europe. It’s impossible to cover every single piece of entertainment available on the Disney Cruise Line. First of all, because there are like 20+ different things to do everyday. Second, because it changes from cruise to cruise, so we could never keep up. Refer to the paper Personal Navigator or the iPhone app regularly, and determine what looks interesting to you on a daily basis.

Staterooms

This toddler-friendly splash zone features PIXAR characters spraying water, a child-sized Mr. Ray waterslide, and more — all in a shaded, enclosed, soft-surfaced area. Paint cans, shower heads, pop jets, and more make up the splashy atmosphere of this experimental area concocted by Huey, Dewey, and Louie. Kids can patch leaky pipes, “control” water flow to the AquaDuck, and dodge spills from the Ducky Dinghy. This spot is often overlooked due to its secluded location, so it’s a quiet retreat with compelling views (and a great wedding venue, too!). You’ll find palm trees, “sand castle” artwork, and a Caribbean soundtrack.

Burial at sea: Scattering a loved one's ashes from a cruise ship

Currently, on Eleuthera island is located the Carnival Corporation-owned (via ist subsidiary Princess Cruises) private island resort Princess Cays. Up to 6 professional tour guides accompany Disney's cruise tourists and lead all activities (shipboard and ashore). Onboard adults-only activities feature cocktail workshops and fitness classes.

Decks and Cabins

My wife and I tend to prefer the smaller ships for this very reason — but I can honestly say we’ve never found the difference compelling enough to steer us toward solely booking the smaller ships. Interestingly enough, Katie and I have sailed onboard the larger ships more than the smaller ones, even though we prefer the smaller ones. While the launch of the Dream one year earlier had consumed some of the pent-up demand for a new Disney Cruise ship, the Fantasy’s arrival was still a source of excitement for avid cruisers. Like the Dream, Imagineers planning the Fantasy were able to take advantage of all the experience and technological advances they’d perfected since the launch of the first ships.

Where does Disney Magic sail to?

You'll see jackets and dresses in Palo, but you can also get by with nice jeans if you want. This adults-only restaurant serves Northern Italian fare and starts at about $45 per person for a multicourse brunch or dinner, though you can also order a la carte for dinner, which could cost more or less, depending on your order. Remy is a fancy adults-only French restaurant that costs $125 per person for dinner (more if you order drinks). This is the type of place where men need jackets and women are expected to wear dresses, pantsuits or a skirt and blouse. Enchante on Disney Wish is similar — you're dressing up for these meals.

DCL-Disney Cruise Line's summer 2025 fleet deployment (Europe & Caribbean itineraries)

It includes a Rotterdam Pilgrim walking tour, a visit to Utrecht's Museum Speelklok and Castle de Haar, and an exploration of Brussels' influence on comic books. Both voyages are 7-day-long, roundtrips from Amsterdam and feature visits to windmills, famous museums, canal cruising, and beer and food tastings (chocolate, cheese, waffles). The company also eliminated final payments and cancellation fees for holiday cruises - voyages that include July 4th, Christmas, New Year's Eve or Thanksgiving Day. Palo restaurant is a boutique eatery on every Disney ship, offering Italian traditional cuisine. The Remy restaurant serves premium French dishes (on Fantasy and Dream) and comes with the highest at sea surcharge for dining - USD 85 pp.

Like on all Disney ships, Disney Fantasy staterooms are some of the industry's largest standard cabins, most of them designed to easily accommodate four passengers. Some of the best Disney cabins features are the ample closet space, the normal-sized living space and the split bathrooms (1 room with shower-bathtub-sink and a separate toilet and sink). Beds on Fantasy are raised to allow storing 2 medium-sized suitcases underneath, staterooms also got 2 vanities, a 22-inches smart HDTV, an iPod docking station and 2 rechargeable "Wave Phones" to be used ship-wide.

This is the closest thing the Disney Fantasy has to a “quiet pool” that’s still open to all ages; but there’s still a small water fountain feature in the middle that kids love to splash in. The most upscale onboard dining experience onboard the Disney Fantasy is Remy. The restaurant, named in honor of the diminutive chef in Ratatouille, transports you to France for a gourmet experience like no other. Dine in the main room, the 900-bottle wine room, or splurge for the luxurious private Gusteau room (complete with a custom multi-course menu). Animator’s Palate is the flagship dining experience on the Disney Fantasy.

Castaway Cay is about 1,000 acres — though not all of it's developed — so it can take a while to talk to and from the ship to different spots on the island. One of the biggest perks of Castaway Cay is that the ship docks right at the island. The coast guard said the ship was 180 miles northwest of Aguadilla, Puerto Rico, when the rescue was carried out. Disney Fantasy continues its straightforward schedule of cruises in 2024. A 3-day search through multiple crime scenes to find Captain Hook’s… well, you know.

Passengers can choose from 3- and 4-night getaways to the Bahamas and 5-night vacations to the western Caribbean, featuring classic Disney experiences like Broadway-style shows, character encounters, fireworks at sea, and innovative dining. All sailings from Florida include a stop at Castaway Cay, a private island oasis reserved exclusively for DCL guests. Located in the Bahamas' turquoise waters, Castaway Cay offers the ultimate escape for everyone, with relaxation, adventure, and quality time with the whole family.

With its maiden voyage in 1998, the world was introduced to an entirely different kind of cruising. As to itineraries, Disney Magic sails to the Bahamas, Southern Caribbean and Western Caribbean from Fort Lauderdale, Miami, Galveston, New Orleans, and San Juan. Additionally, sailings from San Diego to Baja California or eastbound to Galveston (and vice versa) through the Panama Canal are also available. Disney Magic no longer offers Mediterranean and Bermuda cruises; those are now available onboard sister ship Disney Dream. Cruise Critic is not a booking agent and does not charge any service fees to users of our site.

New Orleans (Port NOLA) welcomes Disney Magic back for a 2nd consecutive year in February 2024 with 4-, 5- and 7-night cruises to the Caribbean. Families have the opportunity to arrive early/extend their vacation to enjoy jazz & jambalaya in the city that inspired "The Princess and the Frog." DCL offers various destinations, including Europe, the Caribbean, The Bahamas, Panama Canal, Canada, and New England, Alaska, Pacific Coast USA, as well as Transatlantic crossings on repositioning. Most itineraries are roundtrips to The Bahamas, Eastern and Western Caribbean itineraries.
